REFLIBREFLIB Privacy Policy
In one sentence: REFLIB collects none of your data. We have no server, no accounts, and no analytics or advertising SDKs.
1. What we collect
1.1 Nothing. REFLIB never transmits your browsing history, bookmarks, search terms, download records, settings or any identifier to MNV LIMITED. We have neither the capability nor any channel to obtain any data you keep in REFLIB.
2. Data stored on your device
2.1 The following is stored only on your iPhone to provide browsing features: browsing history and the "frequently visited" statistics computed from it, bookmarks and reading list (with optional offline snapshots), per-site preferences (desktop mode, JavaScript, zoom), content-blocking statistics, download records and downloaded files, page screenshots, app settings, and the cookies and website data WebKit keeps for websites.
2.2 Private browsing: website data in private tabs lives in memory only, is discarded when the last private tab closes, and is never written to history.
2.3 You can clear history, website data and downloads per site or entirely in Settings at any time, or erase everything. Deleting the app deletes all local data.
3. Network requests
REFLIB makes only the following kinds of network requests, all triggered by your actions:
3.1 Websites you visit. Loading a page sends your IP address and request details to that website and the third parties it embeds, governed by their own privacy policies. By default REFLIB strips tracking parameters from URLs, prefers HTTPS, and blocks a list of known tracker domains that ships with the app (it works offline, downloads no external rules, and does not block advertisements).
3.2 Search engine. Search terms typed in the address bar are sent to the search engine you have chosen and are governed by that engine's own privacy policy. The default is RefLib Search (www.reflib.net); DuckDuckGo, Google and Bing are also listed and you can add your own. Every engine is a service independent of this app, and REFLIB sends it nothing beyond the search terms. "Search suggestions" is off by default; when enabled, everything you type is sent to the selected search engine in real time.
3.3 Translating with Apple (default). Translation is performed by Apple's on-device translation framework; page text does not leave your device. The first time you use a language, iOS asks for your consent and downloads an offline language pack from Apple, governed by Apple's privacy policy.
3.4 Translating with Google (optional). If you select Google in Settings, or agree to switch to Google when Apple translation is unavailable, REFLIB hands the current page address to Google's web translation service (translate.google.com / *.translate.goog), which fetches and translates the page. Google therefore learns which address you translated and your IP address, under Google's privacy policy. Pages that require a login cannot be translated this way.
3.5 File downloads. Only files you explicitly request are downloaded, directly from the server that hosts them.
4. Permissions
REFLIB follows a least-privilege rule: apart from network access, each capability below is off by default and is requested only when you use it or turn it on in Settings › Permissions. You can change any of them in iOS Settings at any time.
4.1 Camera: to scan QR codes and open the web address they contain (frames are decoded on device and neither stored nor uploaded), and when a website asks for the camera and you allow it in the system prompt.
4.2 Microphone: only when a website asks for the microphone (for example voice input or a call) and you allow it in the system prompt. REFLIB itself never records audio.
4.3 Photos (add only): only when you choose "Save to Photos" on an image or a screenshot. REFLIB never reads your photo library.
4.4 Face ID / Touch ID: only after you turn on the private-tab lock, to unlock private tabs. Biometric data is handled by iOS and is never available to REFLIB.
4.5 Notifications: only after you turn on "Notify when a download finishes", to post a local notification when a download completes while the app is in the background. There is no remote push.
4.6 Paste from other apps: REFLIB only checks whether the clipboard looks like a web address, and reads it only when you tap Open; iOS's "Paste from Other Apps" setting controls whether that is allowed, and you can also switch the hint off inside REFLIB.
4.7 REFLIB does not request location access, so websites cannot obtain your location. Requests for motion sensors are handled by an iOS prompt.
4.8 Share extension: links shared from other apps are held in REFLIB's private shared container on this device until you open REFLIB and they become tabs. They never leave your device.
5. Children
5.1 REFLIB is a browser with unrestricted access to the internet and is rated 17+ on the App Store. We do not, and cannot, collect data from users of any age.
6. Your rights
6.1 Because we hold none of your data, your rights of access, correction and erasure can all be exercised through the in-app clearing tools or by deleting the app. Questions: support@reflib.com.
7. Changes
7.1 If this policy changes materially, the app will ask you to confirm again on the next launch. Previous versions are available on request.
